Wordpress or Joomla?

If you are using Wordpress and intend to use it to build your business site, then STOP! Switch over to Joomla! And never look back. Continue down the path of Wordpress and get stuck in their development chasing Joomla! Somehow Wordpress has gained traction and has become quite popular. Folks may not know the difference and attach themselves to Wordpress because it looks easy. Make no mistake, Wordpress is not for businesses (yet). It has a long way to go to offer the resources required to support a business website.

Joomla! Comes from humble beginnings. It started as MAMBO a commercial product that the authors (from Australia) released in to the open source world. Problem was the authors had intended to bring MAMBO back into the commercial world after the Open Source community further developed it. That rubbed the open source community the wrong way and they “forked” the development and named the new development JOOMLA! Since then the CMS has attracted unprecedented developers of components, modules, plugins and templates. Their Forum alone has been the most active on the planet reaching 1 million posts a couple of years ago.

So know that Joomla! Is a CMS that will carry your business into the future. Don't expect to use the CMS to devleop your website yourself though. Find a developer to do that, and after the site is up, you can manage it, or at least contribute content to it. Leave the development to the pros.
