What is Content Management ?
Quite simply, Content Mangement is the editing of your site, but there are many distinctions. Writers pen their articles and submit to an editor to allude to the newspaper industry (works well here). Those articles are then "fitted" into the publication after the copy has been (re) formatted for the publication.
Your website can be approached much the same way, the artilces are written, checked and then published. When a company such as Web GooRu supplies Content Management, it goes something like this:
- Agreement is made to managed content.
- Sections of the site that are to be managed are identified.
- Method of submission is agreed on (usually email)
- Agreement on publishing is made (do we decide to publish or do you make the final say)
Content that is changing regularily is mostly text (copy). Graphics can be added and may include images, downloadables, movies and perhaps music. All the elements would be given submission rules to smooth the process of delivering publishable material.
Hard coded graphics that are part of the background or other elements of the site that are not considered content are not included in Content Management.
This service is a TIMELY service and it can be arranged that the content be published around the clock on an ad hoc basis, or even a timed event scenario.
Changing content is a very good thing, it not only brings back your users, but it also brings back the search engine bots to help raise your page rank!
